Fresh from a stint as marketplace curator of Wayne Hemingway’s ‘Vintage at the South Bank’ festival, Judy’s returns to the capital, bringing over 50 of the UK’s premiere vintage traders to the city. Visiting 30 locations nationwide and curating 6 major festivals, Judy’s remains the go-to place for affordable, quality vintage; fashions through to furniture, vinyl to haberdashery, crafts and accessories – sixty years of affordable stock to knock your socks off are all up for grabs on the day.
Added to the mix, Judy’s will be joining forces with Proud Cabaret, bringing a selection of artists to perform on the day. Retro entertainment, free public entry, discounts and goodies– what better way to add old-world glamour to your Bank Holiday.
Former Londoner and founder of the fairs, Judy Berger cannot wait to come back to the Market; “Our last fair was exceptional, it’s now the official vintage event. Well over 2,000 shoppers were out and about, buying everything from maxis to cameras to ephemera for the home.” With a steep rise in cotton prices and the increase in VAT, Judy shows no surprise that many are going retro to fulfil their needs; “With the High Street littered with vintage themes, many won’t pay an arm and a leg for a replica. Instead, they are turning to the source to fill up their wardrobes and that’s where we come in.” Out with the identikit and in with the old – catch Judy’s whilst you can.
The event, which is a short walk from both Liverpool Street and Aldgate East Tube stations, is open between 10am and 5pm. For further information, please visit www.oldspitalfieldsmarket.com
