Brighton Racecourse Market Confusion

Town and Country Markets, the organiser of the popular Brighton Racecourse market held every Bank Holiday Monday would like to reassure customers and traders that the poorly attended ‘Winter Wonderland Christmas Fair’ held at the site during the run up to Christmas was not

one of its events

Malcolm Ball, chief executive of Town and Country Markets commented: “We were sorry to read in the press that the ‘Winter Wonderland’ event was poorly attended. “

”I don’t know the reason why, but charging for shoppers for entry would not have helped. People visit these markets in search of bargains and having to stump up £18 for a family of four would put many people off.

“We have a policy of not charging entry into our Bank Holiday Monday markets at the racecourse and they are going from strength-to-strength with attendance figures increasing every year as shoppers look for better deals in these tough economic times.”

The next market to be held at Brighton Racecourse will be on Easter Monday, which this year is on the 13th April 2009.
